Through a partnership with Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health, BC Housing provides transitional housing units to people in recovery from problematic substance use.
Before long-term housing can be a sustainable option for some
people, support services need to be in place
to help people manage their addictions.
The 18-month
Addiction Recovery Program
ensures that affordable housing and support services are
available to people in recovery once they have completed detox and
support recovery programs. BC Housing provides 93 units of
affordable housing on a priority basis.
Individuals referred to the program must: have demonstrated a
commitment to recovery for at least three months; have a personal
recovery plan; and have skills and abilities to live independently
with minimal supports.
