In February 2010, the Province of British Columbia,
the City of Vancouver, the private sector, and non-profit
and community groups collaborated to establish Downtown
Eastside Connect at Woodward's. This public information centre
helped tell the story about innovative partnerships underway to
improve the quality of life for people who live and work
in the neighbourhood. The centre provided a frank, informative
perspective on the revitalization of a community deeply rooted in
Vancouver's history.
